Diabetes Service

BDNH Diabetes Management Service focuses on the whole person. Promotion of self management is encouraged. All factors are considered from the type of diabetes and the person's health and can include medication management, diet and exercise.

For clients unable to attend to their own needs, a dedicated team of skilled health professionals are available to provide assistance.

How BDNH nurses can help you . . .

All our nurses are skilled in the management of diabetes. We also have a Diabetes Nurse Educator who is a trained expert in managing diabetes and works alongside our general nursing staff to ensure that your diabetes is managed in the best way possible. They also:
  • Provide diabetes education and support
  • Monitor your blood glucose levels
  • Administer tablets or insulin if you are unable to do so
  • Provide links to other health professionals

How can I access this service?

Call us directly on 5334 1500 and speak to our Intake Officer, request your GP refer you to our service or request staff at your hospital refer you to our service.

Inquires can be made by contacting us on 5334 1500. We welcome DVA and Medicare EPC referrals.
